User Suggestions Competition Results: A Step Toward Developing Modiran 10 Software Based on User Experience
As part of the continuous development and improvement of Modiran 10 software, receiving users’ feedback and suggestions is one of the most important sources for identifying real needs and determining product development priorities.
With this approach, a competition was held to collect users’ suggestions, criticisms, and ideas. The goal was to evaluate the software experience from the users’ perspective and identify areas for improvement, development, and implementation.
The results of this process show that users submitted a wide range of suggestions across different sections of the software, and a significant number of these suggestions were accepted after review.
۲۳ Participants and 143 Responses
A total of 23 people participated in the competition, and 143 individual responses were reviewed and analyzed.
Of the total responses, 103, equivalent to 72.03%, were accepted. Another 18 responses, equivalent to 12.59%, required further clarification. Twelve responses, equivalent to 8.39%, were classified as rejected, while 10 responses, equivalent to 6.93%, were placed in the white or unclassified category.

These statistics show that a significant proportion of the ideas and feedback submitted by users were considered suitable for acceptance and follow-up after review.
More Than Three-Quarters of the Responses Were Suggestions
The categorization of responses by type also provides valuable insights.
Of the 143 responses, 111, equivalent to 77.62%, were submitted as suggestions. In addition, 12 responses were categorized as criticism, 12 as other, and 8 as errors.
The high proportion of suggestions indicates that a significant part of user participation focused on providing ideas for improving the software’s features and processes.
Key Topics Raised by Users
Content analysis of the responses showed that the suggestions focused on a variety of topics. In this analysis, each response could be assigned to more than one topic; therefore, the total number of topics does not necessarily equal the total number of responses.
۱. Data Entry, Editing, and Error Control
With 58 responses from 13 users, this topic received the highest number of responses.
Suggestions in this area mainly focused on data entry and editing, error control, fast and bulk operations, data validation, and improving data accuracy.
۲. User Interface and Search
User interface and search were another frequently discussed topic, with 37 responses from 15 users.
Users proposed suggestions related to information display, search, filters, tabs, page appearance, ease of access, and overall usability.
۳. Reproduction, Insemination, and Calving
This area also received considerable attention, with 37 responses from 13 users.
The suggestions in this section covered topics such as insemination, pregnancy, calving, reproductive visits, CIDR, and other processes related to livestock reproduction management.
۴. Reporting and Analysis
In this category, 32 responses from 10 users focused on reporting and analysis.
The suggestions centered on improving reports, charts, indicators, calculations, data comparisons, and the ability to better analyze information recorded in the software.
۵. Animal Identification, Specifications, and Pedigree
A total of 28 responses from 13 users were recorded in this area.
Users’ suggestions mainly concerned animal identification and specifications, improved animal identification capabilities, and features related to animal pedigree.
۸۱ Suggestions Entered the Implementation Process
One of the important aspects of the competition results was the review of suggestions that had been marked with a specific implementation status.
According to the information recorded in the analysis file, 81 responses were marked in blue in the implementation section. Of these, 11 items had the number 1, 22 had the number 2, 8 had the number 3, one item had the number 4, and 39 items had no specific implementation number.
These figures indicate that part of the competition’s outcome went beyond collecting and reviewing feedback and entered the process of following up on and implementing changes.

The competition provided an opportunity to systematically collect and analyze users’ experiences with Modiran 10 software.
The diversity of the topics raised also shows that users interact with the software from different perspectives, ranging from recording and managing animal information to reproductive processes, reporting, search, user interface, and data analysis.
For the development team, this type of feedback can help identify frequently requested needs and determine development priorities, as many of the suggestions come directly from the practical experiences of people who work with the software in real-world environments.
From Ideas to Implementation
The suggestions competition in Modiran 10 was not simply a process for collecting feedback. It provided a platform for establishing a direct connection between users’ experiences and the software development process.
The submission of 143 responses by 23 participants, together with the acceptance of more than 72% of the responses and the identification of 81 items with an implementation status, provides a clear picture of users’ participation in the software improvement process.
Continuing such processes can contribute to the ongoing identification of user needs, improving the user experience, and developing features that are better aligned with the real needs of professionals working in livestock farming and farm management.
