InnoFarm Innovation Competition Announces Its Winners

The national idea-based “InnoFarm” Innovation Competition has announced its winners as part of an initiative aimed at identifying and supporting technology-driven solutions in the livestock, poultry, and aquaculture industries. The event focuses on connecting innovation and investment with real-world industry needs, with smart livestock farming being one of its key areas of focus.

This edition highlighted ideas and projects in areas such as disease control, smart nutrition, livestock monitoring, artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital management. According to the information published in the event poster, the winners are:

  • Narges Tarkond — “Salamat-Afar: Pathogen Control”
  • Hosna Hajati — “Hydrated Feed for Turkeys”
  • Majidreza Haghighi — “Smart Poultry House Control System with Monitoring, Data Collection, and Artificial Intelligence”
  • Amir Khayami — “BLUEGUARD: Smart Aquatic Robot”
  • Mohammad Vakili — “Smart Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Farming”

Among these projects, ideas related to smart livestock farming play a particularly important role. The use of sensors, the Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, and artificial intelligence can enable continuous monitoring of livestock conditions, early disease detection, environmental control in production facilities, optimized feed consumption, and reduced production costs. These technologies can help shift livestock farm management from traditional and reactive approaches toward more precise, preventive, and data-driven management.

The InnoFarm event is organized by the Iranian Association of Animal, Poultry and Aquatic Feed Industries and the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran, with the aim of connecting innovation, investment, and industry. The event includes activities such as a technology governance panel, presentations of the industry’s technological needs, a specialized innovation exhibition, and the presentation of leading ideas.

From a development perspective, smart livestock farming is not simply about adopting digital equipment. It represents an approach aimed at improving productivity, enhancing animal health, reducing resource consumption, and contributing to sustainable food security. Organizing competitions of this kind can strengthen cooperation among livestock farmers, knowledge-based companies, startups, research institutions, and investors, while facilitating the commercialization of practical technologies for farms and production units.

A report published on the Modiran 10 website has also highlighted the role of emerging technologies in transforming the livestock farming industry and moving the sector toward smart, data-driven, and efficient solutions.

InnoFarm emphasizes that innovation becomes valuable when it contributes to solving real industry challenges. Accordingly, solutions such as smart monitoring systems, digital control of livestock and poultry facilities, and advanced veterinary tools can play an important role in the digital transformation and development of smart livestock farming in the country.
